Mutabaruka (b. 26 December, 1952, Rae Town, Jamaica as Allan Hope) is a Jamaican dub poet dub poetry . His name comes from the Rwandan language and translates as "one who is always victorious." His 1983 release "Check It" was released on Chicago blues label record label Alligator Records.
